Group Fitness & Indoor Cycling Guidelines
Move Together. Sweat Together.
Our group fitness classes are the heartbeat of the CCBA community! From the zen of the Mind & Body studio to the high-energy intensity of Indoor Cycling, sharing a workout is one of the best ways to stay motivated. To ensure a safe, focused, and enjoyable experience for all participants, please review our class guidelines below.
General Group Fitness Guidelines
Applies to all classes, including Yoga, Step, Strength, and more.
- Age Requirement: Group fitness classes are open to members in 9th grade and older.
- Reservations: Space can be limited! Please make reservations in advance for all Indoor Cycling classes and any classes held in the Mind & Body Studio.
- Arrive & Thrive: For your safety and to get the most out of your workout, we ask that you arrive on time to catch the warm-up and stay through the cool-down.
- Note: Instructors and class formats are subject to change without notice, though we do our best to stick to the schedule!
- Unplug & Focus: This is your time to disconnect! No cell phone usage is allowed during class. If you need to take a call or send a text, please step out to the lobby or hallway.
- Gear & Hygiene:
- Footwear: Proper athletic footwear and clothing are required.
- Sanitization: Let's keep it clean for the next neighbor! Please wipe down your equipment before and after use.
Indoor Cycling Studio Protocols
Get ready to ride! Because of the intensity of these classes, we have specific safety protocols in place.
First Time in the Saddle?
A free orientation is required for anyone who has never taken an Indoor Cycling class. We want to ensure you are set up safely on the bike!
- Contact: Please email Joanna Graber to schedule your orientation before your first class.
Ride Safety & Etiquette
- The 10-Minute Rule: Safety is paramount. Participants arriving more than 10 minutes after class begins cannot participate, as missing the warm-up increases injury risk.
- Cool Down: Please plan to stay for the entire session. We ask participants not to leave early, as a proper cool-down is required for safe heart rate recovery.
- Remember to hydrate! You will sweat!
- Heart Rate Monitors: While not mandatory, the use of heart rate monitors is encouraged to help you track your intensity safely.
Community Reminder: Our instructors are here to guide you. If you have an injury or need a modification, please let them know before class starts so they can help you have a great workout.
